The 8th Annual Gingerbread Run, supporting SaskAbilities was a Huge Success. Thank-you!

Here’s how it worked:

From Dec. 3-8, run or walk a 5km, 10km or Half Marathon and share your experience. In order to follow COVID-19 Safety Protocol, the race this year will be virtual, which means participants run the race on their own and submit their time through the Race Roster website.

Participants will still receive their awesome souvenir bunnyhug at our safe, drive-thru race package pick up (details below). We also encourage participants to make the most of their experience!

  1. Have your own safe celebration at home and try out this delicious Gingerbread Cookie Recipe!
  2. Stay connected to the community by celebrating your run on social media using the hashtag #gingerbreadrun

All race profits will go to support SaskAbilities. Money raised stays in the province and goes towards funding SaskAbilities/Easter Seals Saskatchewan programs including Camp Easter Seal, Summer Fun and Adaptive Technology Services. As we promote inclusion for all, SaskAbilities offers programs and services to people with disabilities in Saskatchewan to foster independence and participation in the community through our programs and services. Your generous donation and participation in this amazing event is greatly appreciated.

Good luck, have fun, and this year, if you catch the gingerbread man, please use hand sanitizer before handling.

See you in October!
Once upon a time…

there lived a not-so-old man, a not-so-old woman, and a not-so-little boy. Actually, these three were all Brainsport employees—Brian, Lis and Tyler. And rather than baking bread, as the Gingerbread man folktale goes, they were sipping margaritas at Las Palapas.

The Jingle Bell Run had just been cancelled, and they had recently opened the doors on their brand new Brainsport location. With a vision to create the world’s best fun run, the three quickly came up with idea for the Gingerbread fun run. Once stumbled upon, the name seemed perfect—it was both a folktale about running and the most delicious winter treat.

Choosing the charity proved just as intuitive. Born with a clubfoot, Brian’s son Oscar received much help and resources from SaskAbilities. SaskAbilities helps people move, the same mandate and mission as Brainsport, making the choice as fitting as white icing on a molasses cookie.
