Running with others is one of the best motivators to get out the door. If you’re looking for some new running buddies, consider checking out any of the several Saskatoon-based running groups that are open to runners of all levels and welcome newcomers.

EBC Monday Runs
What: Runners and walkers of all abilities welcome. Everyone runs or walks 17 minutes out and 17 minutes back at their own pace to finish at the same time (after 34 minutes). Social time follows.
When: Mondays, 6 p.m.

Networking Run Club
What: Lunch hour club hosted by the Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce. Runners of all abilities and backgrounds welcome (no need to be a Chamber member or part of the business community). Members run 5km together at roughly a six-minute-per-kilometre pace.
When: Tuesdays, 12:10 p.m.
Where: Meet outside the YWCA on 25th Street East (look for the Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce banner). Runners can access the YWCA locker rooms and showers at no charge by letting reception know they are part of the club. Parking at the YWCA is free.

Running Wild Athletics Club Developmental Program
What: Coached workouts for athletes of all abilities ages 11 to masters. (Running Wild also offers youth programming).
When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30 – 7:45 p.m.
Where: Saskatoon Field House.
Cost: $200 per season. Saskatchewan Athletic Membership must also be purchased. Members can pay $75 to train at the Field House on Sundays from 10:30 – 12 p.m.

YXE Slow AF Run Club
What: Runners and walkers of all abilities welcome (“Do you want to join a running club but not sure if you’ll be able to keep up? Then this is the group for you!”). Participants break into groups of similarly paced people and get moving for 30 minutes.
When: Wednesdays, 6:15 a.m.
Where: Rotary Park.

Top Notch Masters Track and Field Club
What: Coached group for athletes aged 55+ in sprints, distance events and throws (horizontal jumps offered in outdoor season). Competitions optional.
When: Wednesdays, 10 – 11:15 a.m.
Where: Saskatoon Field House.
Cost: $20 club fee annually plus Saskatchewan Athletics membership ($100).

YXE Run Club
What: Running routes are posted on Facebook and shared via email list in advance. Two group leaders oversee run and learn-to-run groups, but everyone is invited to go at their own pace. Participants run or walk for 45-50 minutes (people can choose how much of the route to complete). Post-run socials roughly once a month and regular themed runs. Runners and walkers of all abilities welcome.
