With COVID-19 restrictions in place until at least Feb. 19, many Saskatchewan residents are finding creative ways to stay active and entertained this winter. Brainsport wants to hear what’s putting a smile on your face this month for your chance to win some great prizes.
Bring ON Fun 21 is an online contest put on by Brainsport and sponsored by On. To take part, join the Facebook group and share photos, videos or GIFs of what you’re doing for fun. Prizes will be awarded each week, with a grand prize being given out on Feb. 28.
“Everyone has their own different definition of fun,” says Brainsport employee Harvey Weber. “For me, going on a six-kilometre run is fun. For somebody else fun could be going for a moonlit walk. So hopefully lots of uniqueness and creativity will come out of this.”
Since the Facebook group launched in late January, people have posted about frigid runs, skiing, snow shoeing, tobogganing, building snow forts, dog sledding, snow tubing and disc golfing. People have shared their favourite places to walk and play and offered tips for dressing for February in Saskatoon.
“It gives people a whole variety of ideas,” Weber says. “Lots of (posts) are activities that families are doing together which is really cool because, with limitations because of COVID, parents are trying to find things for kids to do.”
The first prizes, awarded earlier this week by random draw, were six custom Brainsport Running Club buffs. Details about future prizes are available on the Bring ON Fun 21 Facebook group.
Prizes for the lucky winners will be available at Brainsport or can be mailed out on request.
