Lighten Up Fun Run 2019

The best Christmas light display in Saskatoon doesn’t have an address, it doesn’t stay in one place long enough! It’s the Lighten Up Fun Run.

The event was created seven years ago by Dave Buchner and the name says it all. It’s an invitation to lighten up, mentally and literally as participants dress up in LED lights and run or walk an easy course around the river. There’s a stop at the Ronald McDonald House, and a photo stop at the Cameco Meewasin Skating Rink. It all finishes with hot beverages and dainties donated by d’Lish by Tish Cafe.

Dave says that he enjoys seeing the costumes that people wear and that the run is becoming a holiday tradition for many of the participants. He stresses that this is a no-stress event: no fees, no registration, no pressure, just come out and have some fun.

You can decorate yourself and join in this December 22 at 6:00 p.m, starting at d’Lish by Tish Cafe. You can see all the details on the Facebook page here. Let’s all give a big Thank-You to Dave, d’Lish by Tish and their team for making our season bright!
